SMS Messaging Consent & Opt-In

Velocitydonum LLC · Effective August 5, 2026

Consent to receive text messages is never required to use Velocitydonum. A person can create an account, publish an offer, redeem an offer, receive a thank-back credit, and complete any purchase without ever giving a mobile number and without ever agreeing to messaging. Every opt-in screen shows an explicit “Skip — no texts” action next to the consent box, and choosing it withholds nothing: the service works identically. Messaging consent is a standalone, unchecked, optional checkbox. It is not bundled into our Terms of Service, our sign-up, or our checkout.

This page documents exactly how Velocitydonum LLC ("Velocity", "we", "us") obtains express written consent before sending any SMS or MMS message, and the exact disclosure language a person sees before they consent. Velocity never sends a message to a mobile number that has not completed one of the opt-in flows described below.

How consent is obtained (narrative)

Every message Velocitydonum sends is triggered by an action the recipient took themselves. Consent is always captured in writing on a screen the recipient controls — either their own phone or their own dashboard. Velocity does not accept verbal consent as a standalone opt-in. A merchant staff member may verbally tell a customer that redeeming will send a thank-back code, but that statement alone never enrolls a number: the customer must still enter their own number and check an unchecked consent box on the Velocity redemption screen before any message is sent. No number is ever uploaded, imported, or entered on a customer's behalf.

Opt-in flow 1 — Merchant / creator web form

A business owner adds a mobile number inside their Velocity dashboard in order to receive an alert when a code is scanned at their counter. The number field is optional and blank by default. Directly beneath the field is a consent checkbox that is unchecked by default. The number cannot be saved and no message is ever sent unless the owner affirmatively checks it. This is the verbatim on-screen language:

☐ I agree to receive SMS from Velocitydonum LLC at this number for transactional redemption alerts. Msg frequency varies; rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Info not shared with third parties for marketing. See Privacy & Terms.

Skip — no texts

Representation of the live screen. The box is unchecked by default. The “Save number” action stays inert until the owner checks it, and the separate “Skip — no texts” action is always active — the owner completes setup and uses every feature of the dashboard without opting in. The step is marked complete either way.

Opt-in flow 2 — Customer opt-in at the counter (QR code / point of redemption)

A customer redeeming an offer at a participating business scans a QR code or taps a link, which opens a Velocity web form on their own phone. The form asks for their mobile number so the single-use thank-back code can be delivered. The consent checkbox below the field is unchecked by default, and the number is discarded if the box is not checked.

Text me my code
No thanks — show my code on screen

Representation of the live screen. The box is unchecked by default. The customer may decline entirely: “No thanks — show my code on screen” delivers the same single-use thank-back code on screen, with no number collected and no message sent. The redemption completes identically either way, so messaging is never a condition of the transaction.

Opt-out and help handling

Replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT immediately ends all messages to that number. The sender responds once with: "Velocitydonum: You are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages. Reply HELP for help."

Replying HELP returns: "Velocitydonum: Thank-back and redemption alerts. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to cancel. Support: support@velocitydonum.com."

Data handling

Mobile numbers collected for messaging are used solely to deliver the transactional messages described above. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Numbers are deleted on request at support@velocitydonum.com.
